After wrapping the last episode of her 25-year-long daytime show in May, Oprah Winfrey transferred her attention to her struggling cable network, OWN, a joint venture between Winfrey's company Harpo and cable powerhouse Discovery Communications. To combat weak ratings, Winfrey named herself the network's CEO and chief creative officer in July, in addition to her previous role as chairman. In October, a new programming line up will include a talk show from Rosie O'Donnell, a rehash of the Oprah show using clips from its 4,561 episodes and new footage with Winfrey, and bridal and food-business reality shows. The Mississippi native moved to Chicago after news stints in Nashville, Baltimore. She has earned 46% of her wealth in the last five years.
